Religious Education

"Education in the faith by the parents should begin in the child's earliest years. This already happens when family members help one another to grow in faith by the witness of a Christian life in keeping with the Gospel. Family catechesis precedes, accompanies, and enriches other forms of instruction in the faith.”  (Catechism of the Catholic Church, n. 2226)

Dear Parents,

We welcome you, along with your family, to our Religious Education Program (REP) 2017-2018, of Our Lady of the Snows Parish.  We believe it is very important to offer our children the necessary education to build a solid base nurtured in our Christian beliefs and our Catholic tradition.

Our catechists offer, on a volunteer basis, their time, talent and treasure to give each child the opportunity to better understand what it means to be a follower of Christ.  They understand that what we are able to achieve in an hour and a half on Saturdays can only be complemented and reinforced at home. Children learn most about our faith from parents, grandparents and other members of the family.  Therefore, for our catechist to be successful, they need your support.

We are very proud of our program and hope that through it our children will experience the great love God has for every one of us.  Let’s pray that the education our children receive here may help them prepare for a life with a deep devotion to Christ and love to the Catholic Church, as they continue in this journey of faith.

As a parish, we are committed to fully participate in the religious education of your sons and daughters.  Your love for our Christian faith, your knowledge of our Catholic Tradition, and your passion teaching our children are highly appreciated.  We hope to see everyone at Mass every Sunday.

Sincerely in Christ,

Deacon Franco Foti
Director of Religious Education
